Marya Lands Superhero Role in Action Film

maryaaShe may have gone on a hiatus musically but singer Marya is set to make a comeback on our screens as an actress.
The Sishiki simu singer has been cast for the lead role in a movie dubbed ‘Passenger 47’ produced by Maxton Media.
Speaking to Word Is, the beauty said, “The movie is about passengers in a bus travelling to Nairobi and they are hijacked and get into an accident. All in all, out of 47 passengers only three survive the journey.” 
Marya will be playing the role of a superhero, quite the task for her debut into acting. Marya is however optimistic and excited with plans to shoot more movies.
“The character I play is one of an action hero. To prepare for it I asked the producer to give me the script a day in advance and I immersed myself into the role by getting my mind, body and soul to understand the character. Everyone has a dark side and I’m excited about it. People will love it. After this I plan to shoot more movies.” She said.
“The producer has so much confidence in me. They convinced me that I could play the role and pull off the character,” she added.
Edwin Aura aka Ruj Teaflon, producer and director of the upcoming film convinced Marya into acting. He said,
“Marya never thought about acting but I convinced her that it is in line with what she does as a musician only in this, she won’t be singing. Eventually, she accepted the role.”
