President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday at Mtito Andei to check the progress of the Standard Gauge Railway.
Accompanied by several cabinet secretaries, the head of state commended the workers for a good job so far and promised to monitor the progress closely. The 472 kilometre Mombasa-Nairobi phase of the project will be completed in three years. The next phase will be the 505 kilometre Nairobi-Malaba route to be followed by the 132 kilometre Kisumu branch line.
