When we talk of Somalia, all that comes up is Al Shabaab, war and death. For two decades, the once vibrant country has seen no peace and all that can go wrong has gone wrong.
In recent years however, Somalia is rebuilding itself. The explosions have drastically reduced evidenced by the fact that they now make news. A few years ago, their frequency meant they were no big deal.
In the backdrop of this relative peace, a lot of development is happening. Investors are set to build a city within a city in Mogadishu. It’s a lot like our own Konza city and goes by the name Daru-Salaam City.
Daru-Salaam is the first large scale housing project in Somalia ever with over six thousand housing units proposed to be constructed in the next three years. Work is already in progress.
Here are some artist impressions.
