The plan to gag the media and mute freedom of speech and expression by the Kenyan government seems to have started acting already. The past weekend saw blogger Kiplangat Abraham Mutai get arrested for allegedly exposing the corruption schemes taking place in some counties.
Mr. Mutai was arrested in Mombasa and airlifted to Nairobi where he remained under police custody until yesterday when he was released on condition that he turns up for a court hearing today. His arrest elicited so many reactions, with many accusing the government of returning us to the dark days.
