When / If a campaign runs out of ideas, new stuff must emerge. When you are the front runner in an election campaign, you are definitely going to receive all attacks possible, true or false. One issue that is coming up in the US Republican nominations is the story that Mitt Romney once maltreated his family pet dog, (30 years ago).  In 1983, during a 12 hour family trip to Canada, Mitt Romney put Seamus, their dog in a crate, tied to the roof of their car. Seamus is said to have suffered diarrhea and fatigue.
Romney’s main rival, Rick Santorum, is not letting the story go, just yet. In an interview on ABC News, Santorum said,
“As far as Seamus the dog, look, all I would say is, the issues of character are important in this election, and we need to look at all of those issues and make a determination as to whether that’s the kind of person you want to be president of the United States,”
Mitt Romney’s campaign has failed to respond, maybe hoping the matter will go away.
