wolfJust days after Kenya’s film classification board banned Hollywood blockbuster, The Wolf of Wall Street’, Uganda has taken a similar road. The movie was set to premiere yesterday in Kampala, but most of the cinemas did not even have signage and banners advertising it.
Though no official word from their film classification board, Red Pepper believes the movie will not be showing.
Billed as the film that will finally give Leonardo DiCaprio his Oscar, The Wolf of Wall Street has been banned in several countries, or some scenes removed in others. The original film runs for 3 full hours, and contains lots of swear words, sex scenes and drug use. One of the more controversial scene is a gay orgy.
