Capital fm’s transmission capability was last night put to the test after their transmission studio collapsed, Jackal News is reporting. It is said that engineers worked overtime to set up the Outside Broadcasting van, located outside International Life House and it is the one currently being used.
Capital Fm has two studios, one of which is in a state of disrepair, so when the surviving studio developed issues last night, they had to look for alternatives. Their well equipped OB van came to the rescue. Presenters will now have to work from outside International Life House, until their Lonhro studios are resuscitated.
Last week, Capital FM had to be left on auto pilot for some hours after the entire Lonhro house was evacuated following a small fire that had started in a hotel on the ground floor.
The station, owned by Chris Kirubi, has just signed a deal with Chinese broadcaster Xinhua, to erect screens around Nairobi to relay news.
