‘Steamy’ is the new big theme in the music industry. It now seems videos will compete on the basis of how ‘much explicit’ they are. Last week, Candy n Candy Records rubbished claims that ‘Nishike‘ by the ace boys band, Sauti Sol was the most explicit video ever done and released in Kenya. The record stable claimed their own ‘Nice and Slow’ as the Steamiest in history of Kenya.
Nice and Slow however did not have much air play. The song was not known by many in Kenya until differences in opinion on which among the two (Nishike and Nice and Slow) is steamier erupted. “Nyce n Slow” did not only cause ripples in Kenya but also in the UK and was even ranked number 50 on the UK ReverbNation. It was also considered for nomination in the 20th MTV Europe Music Awards.
Candy N Candy Records has vowed to release yet another explicit video. Well, the level of ‘explicit’ has not yet been defined but we hope it will not be a hit that will bring disgrace in the Kenyan Music industry but rather a hit to reckon with.
