#FreeBobiWine: Babu Owino to Lead Revolution Against “Dictator” Museveni

August 23, 2018

Youthful Kenyan legislator Babu Owino has called for the immediate release of Ugandan singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi – popularly known as Bobi Wine.

A tough-talking Babu Owino on Wednesday vowed to lead a delegation of MPs to Uganda to hold a protest in the next one week if Bobi Wine is not released.

Speaking at Parliament buildings, Owino, who is the Secretary-General of Young Parliamentarians Association, condemned the arrest and detention of the Kyaddondo East MP and described President Museveni as a dictator.

“We have been arrested before and we do not fear Museveni. We will be taking a revolutionary demonstration to Uganda because it is high time things change in our neighbouring country. We cannot sit, and watch injustices being committed in the continent,” declared Babu.

“We cannot allow Museveni to kill the future of the youth. He has proved time and again that he is unsuitable to be in office,” he added.

In addition to organizing a trip to Uganda for the protests, the Embakasi East MP said that demonstrations will also be held here in Nairobi at the Ugandan embassy to have it closed until Wine is released.

“We demand for immediate release of comrade Bobi Wine failure to which I as the Sec Gen Young Parliamentarians Association will lead fellow youthful legislators from Kenya to Uganda where we will hold mega demos to push for comrade Bobi Wine’s unconditional release,” said the former University of Nairobi student leader.
