Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama could well have played his last minutes in the English Premier League as Tottenham are set to let him leave for Italian side Roma.
The Kenyan international has emerged as a top transfer target for the Uefa Champions League semi-finalist, according to various media outlets.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica, reports that the Serie A side had hoped to sign Steven N’Zonzi but have been unsuccessful thus far.
N’Zonzi is said to be keen on a return to the Premier League over a move to Italy, with Arsenal and Everton believed to be interested in his services before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Roma are now reportedly turning their attention to Wanyama, who joined Spurs in 2016 and only played 24 games in all competitions last season, having been sidelined with injury.
Wanyama is also currently sidelined with a knee injury, and he missed four months of last season through various ailments.
He first injured his knee last August, before a thigh problem in May and another knee issue last month.
