A 12-year-old boy is facing charges for allegedly sodomising five pupils in Ruai village in Laikipia County.
The accused was on Tuesday arraigned in a Nanyuki court and charged with sexually assaulting three boys aged 9 and 10 years between June 16 and July 23 this year.
Appearing before Nanyuki Resident Magistrate Damacline Bosibori, the minor denied the charges.
The prosecution told the court that the boy was preying on the minors while they were playing in a school field during lunch break.
In one incident on June 16, the accused allegedly abducted two boys and dragged them to a nearby bush where he threatened to gouge out their eyes if they resisted.
He is also said to have sodomised other boys on July 16 after threatening to kill them if they didn’t cooperate.
But on July 24, one of his victims gathered the courage and reported the assault to his teacher. After investigations, other victims came forward with their ordeal.
Magistrate Damacline Bosibori directed the accused be taken to Nanyuki Teaching and Referral hospital for age assessment. The accused will be arraigned in court on Friday, August 3.
