News reaching us this Tuesday indicate that former cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott has died.
The former Keiyo South MP and powerful minister under the Moi government died at Nairobi hospital. He has been battling what was believed to be cancer for several years, and has had to deny reports of his death on a few occasions. In 2014, he threatened to sue those spreading the rumours on social media.
The politician served under Kenya’s first 3 presidents in various top government posts. Until his death, he was the leader of National Vision Party, but had taken a back seat in the country’s politics in the last few years.
Biwott was 77 years.
This is a developing story.
