The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition has revealed its next course of action after calling off street protests.
In a statement Tuesday, Chairman of the Azimio Executive Council Wycliffe Oparanya said the Opposition coalition will hold countrywide public barazas and town hall meetings starting this week.
The first town hall meeting will be held on Thursday, April 13 in Nairobi.
Oparanya said the barazas will allow the coalition to explain to Kenyans their next course of action in regard to the issues affecting the country.
“As the negotiators take up their responsibilities, we will embark on a series of direct engagements with members of the public through town hall meetings and public Barazas. We will hold the first town hall meeting in Nairobi on Thursday, 13th April 2023, to be followed by a people’s Baraza at the Kamukunji grounds on Sunday, 16th April 2023,” the statement said in part.
It added: “The purpose of the town hall meetings and public barazas is to enable the party explain to the people where we are and the upcoming course of action following the suspension of protests.”
