A pastor for the Africa Inland Church(AIC) has been found guilty of defiling his biological daughter for six years, between 2008 and 2014.
According to the charge sheet, the clergyman committed the offence on diverse dates between 2008 and 2014 at the veterinary area in Kajiado North District within Kajiado North county.
PQ unlawfully and intentionally defiled his biological daughter contrary to the Sexual offences Act.
He was charged with a second count of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to the law.
Prosecutor Allan Mogere presented several witnesses who testified in the case. Among them was the girl, who testified how her father sexually abused her at knifepoint.
“He took a kitchen knife and placed it on my neck, he later defiled me and threatened me, he promised to kill me if I dared to tell anyone including my mother,” the court heard.
The girl said the accused person raped her from the age of eight until she turned 14.
“When I reached Std 7 we were taught about sex education and I decided to share with a friend the experience I had with my father on sex matters, my friend leaked the information to my teacher who later informed the principal and I was called to the office,” she told the court.
The minor told the court that the accused person was later summoned to the school.
“He came with the CRE textbook, I saw him at the school administration blocks and he looked worried,” she added.
In his mitigation, the pastor told the court that the charges were fabricated and pleaded with the court to have mercy on him.
But Kibera senior principal magistrate Derrick Kuto ruled that his defence held no ground.
“This defence has no basis and is well scripted, the law must do justice to the victims in this case, the accused person is therefore convicted as charged,” Kuto said.
The magistrate directed that a probation report be filed in court ahead of sentencing.
