The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC) Limited has announced a shutdown of water supply to various parts of Nairobi this Thursday.

The water company, in a public notice, said it will interrupt the water supply for 24 hours from Thursday 6 am to Friday 6 am.

“The shutdown will facilitate interconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline at the junction of North Airport/ Eastern bypass road and Mombasa Road,” NWSC said.

The shut down will affect areas along the Express Superhighway. These include Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), Athi River Export Processing Zone (EPZ), Coca Cola, Mukuru and Imara Daima.

Other affected parts are estates and industries along North Airport Road, Embakasi village as well as Tassia estate.

The Administration Police Training Schools, General Service Unit (GSU), Nairobi Inland Container depot, and industries along Masai road and adjacent areas will be affected as well.

The water company has advised consumers to use available water sparingly as they work towards restoring the supply.
