Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina Dhowre had nothing but good reviews about one of Nairobi’s most popular fish-eating joints, the Mama Oliech restaurant in Kilimani area.
In an interview with Ebony magazine’s January issue, the couple spoke about their various visits to Africa.
“Africa is the future. We love the beauty of the land and the people, not to mention the countless opportunities,” they said.
The couple encouraged those who haven’t been to Africa to make a point of visiting the continent.
“Anyone who hasn’t been yet is really missing out. There’s truly something for everyone. It’s a chance to connect with cultures and people whose beauty is unimaginable,” the Elbas said.
When asked where they would recommend someone to eat, they said:
“Mama Oliech Restaurant in the Kilimani neighbourhood of Nairobi is a must-try. Order the ugali with fried fish and a side of kachumbari.”
Though Idris is from London and Sabrina is from Canada, they are both of African origin.
The actor was born to a Ghanaian mother and Sierra Leonean father, while the model and activist has roots in Somali.
