Anita Nderu Hoping to Enjoy Birthing Experience

August 30, 2022

UPDATE: Anita Nderu and her husband Barrett Raftery, on Tuesday announced the birth of their daughter, Kaya Gacheri Catalina.

Anita said she delivered ‘peanut’ on Friday, August 26, 2022.

“I am no longer pregnant. @barrettraftery and I finally got to meet our daughter Kaya Gacheri Catalina Raftery (Rap name: Nippy Suckle) on the 26th of August 2022 at 3:48am. What a whirlwind couple of days it has been. We are elated beyond words, grateful and in love and awe of our little human. We’re finally back home. Our rent free house mate is about to reveal her true colors as she schools us through the 4th trimester. Parenthood 101 is now in session,” she wrote alongside the first picture of Kaya Gacheri.

Anita Nderu has curated a ‘labour playlist’ for what she hopes will be a memorable and fun birthing experience for her first child.

In a video on social media, the media personality said she wants to be hyped up on the day she brings another human into the world.

“I will be that person walking/crawling into my labour room with a JBL speaker, B with a cooler box and our squad of labour supporters and my overpacked hospital bag with all kinds of essentials whose use remains to be seen,” she noted.

Noting that the reality of childbirth will not be the labour party of the year that she expects, Anita said she will still hype herself to the maximum.

The former Capital FM presenter said she hopes to enjoy the whole experience.

“It’s all in good fun (this video and the playlist) so don’t take me too seriously and shout at me in the comments, I know the labour party of the year may not be a reality but I will hype myself the best way I know how so I can find a way to enjoy the birthing experience and later share with y’all the litest most dramatically theatrical story ever told of a child being born🤭😁,” she wrote on her video.

Anita Nderu also shared with her fans her labour playlist, which had up to 60 songs the last time we checked.

Locally, Anita has included the likes of Wakadinali(Geri Inengi), Nyashinski and Femi One(Properly), Kleptomanix(Tuendelee), Chris Kaiga(Niko On), Nameless(Ninanoki), Octopizzo(Wavy), and Kahush(Mi Siwezi).

There’s also Just A Band’s ‘Ha He’, Trio Mio’s ‘Cheza Kama Wewe’, and ‘Bad Manners’ by Gwaash.
