Deputy President William Ruto showed his teeth on Tuesday in a face off against hecklers at a political rally in Laikipia county.
The DP had his speech interrupted by a group of people in the crowd who were shouting Maina Njenga’s name.
According to Dennis Itumbi, who is Ruto’s mouthpiece on social media, Maina Njenga stormed the DP’s meetings demanding to speak. The former Mungiki sect leader is reportedly eyeing the Laikipia senator seat on a UDA ticket.
The heckling triggered a furious reaction from Ruto, who told his hecklers to organise their own meeting.
“Mpange mkutano yenu. Wacheni upuzi. Hapana. No…no siwezi kukubali..kwani mumekuja kutupigia makelele hapa. Kama hamtaki tuende na nidhamu, tafathali please tuwe an nidamu… Msikuje apa kupiga kelele kwa mkutano yangu. Kila mtu apange mkutano yake,” said Ruto, adding: “Apange mkutano take, hii mkutano ni yangu. Please tuheshimiane.”
