Kenya’s fastest growing TV station TV47, has just further expanded its reach.
The station is now available on GOtv, the country’s most popular pay TV service. Starting today, November 1, TV47 will be available on Channel 102 on all 5 GOtv packages, namely: GOtv Supa, GOtv Max, GOtv Plus, GOtv Value and GOtv Lite.
MultiChoice Kenya Managing Director Nancy Matimu welcomed the station to the GOtv family, lauding it as the fastest growing free-to-air station in the country.
“TV47 is Kenya’s fastest-growing Free-To-Air (FTA) station and we are happy to onboard them to GOtv today. GOtv customers across all our five packages now have an increased slate of local content from this highly performing channel,” she said.
This is not the first time TV47 is joining the MultiChoice family. It has been on DStv, on Channel 268, for about 2 years now.
“Our entry into GOtv will enhance our reach. It also comes with a variety of new exciting programmes, both entertainment and educational,” says Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief Executive Officer for TV47.
The station is positioning itself to be the leading destination for political conversations as we approach the 2022 elections.
“We are also approaching the electioneering period and TV47 will be the go-to station for all political commentary, interviews, profiles and breaking news,” Abdullahi added.
On top of news and commentary, the station is improving its programme line-up, adding new riveting shows like The Bride of Judas: A Legendary Love, and Darkness of the Soul. They have also pivoted to offering educational content, particularly tertiary education – something that had not been done in Kenya before.
TV47’s inclusion into the GOtv family coincides with the launch of a new package, dubbed GOtv Supa. The package is geared towards kids entertainment, telenovelas and more local content like TV47.
“With the festive season fast approaching, families need affordable ways to spend time together. The launch of this entertainment-focused GOtv package will allow our subscribers to do exactly that,” says Matimu.
“With more choice and greater entertainment value, the new GOtv SUPA package joins an already extensive line up of content offering available to our GOtv customers, to ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy on GOtv this holiday.”
GOtv Supa subscribers will be able to view all sporting action and channels available on GOtv Max, plus an additional 17 lifestyle and entertainment channels. The price is Sh1,499 per month.
New subscribers can purchase a GOtv decoder by dialing *423#, or at MultiChoice Kenya branches and dealers countrywide.
