Police in Kinangop, Nyandarua County are investigating claims that two women have been trading their daughters for sex and cash.
This is after residents of Kiabunda village rescued the two girls aged 11 and 14 on Tuesday. The women are said to have been forcing their daughters to sleep with a man who would in return give each of them Sh1,000 as payment.
The locals, acting on a tipoff from one of the residents, stormed one of the woman’s houses where they caught the man who had been defiling the girls, one of whom lives with disability.
Area police boss Jane Munywoki confirmed the incident saying the man was detained at Njabini Police Station pending conclusion of investigations.
She, however, said the women were not arrested since no one had recorded a statement against them.
