A man was presented before a Nairobi Court Thursday to answer to cyber-crime charges after allegedly hacking into Family Bank’s systems and attempting to steal.
Mr Geoffrey Oduor Ojow, who goes by the aliases ‘Jojo Odukuzi’ and ‘Jeff Mzee’, was charged with unauthorized access to computer data contrary to the law.
The court was told that Jeff Mzee – on diverse dates between November 1, 2018 and January 20, 2019 — unlawfully remotely gained access to Family Bank Limited networks systems thereby infringing their information security measures.
He was also charged with intent to commit an offence namely stealing from the said bank.
Mr. Oduor pleaded not guilty to the charges and pleaded for lenient bail/bond terms before Milimani Law Courts Magistrate Zainab Abdul.
He was released on a cash bail of Sh300,000 with an alternative bond of Sh500,000.
The hearing of the case was set for September 26, 2019.
