Residents at Kapkwen trading centre in Chepalungu, Bomet were last week left in shock after a girl allegedly killed her boyfriend for cheating.
Reports indicate 19-year-old Tabitha Chepkoech then surrendered herself to the Bomet Central Police Station a day later(Thursday, July 4) with the murder weapon.
Bomet Central sub-county commander Geoffrey Walumbe said Ms Chepkoech walked into the police station at around 7.30 am with a bloodstained knife.
She reportedly confessed to stabbing her boyfriend, 22-year-old Kevin Kiptoo at Kapkwen market three kilometers from Bomet town.
The commander said detectives took away the knife but were yet to take her statement since she was still emotionally unstable.
Mr Walumbe said detectives were dispatched to the market to investigate the incident and ascertain the motive of the killing. They are also trying to establish whether the girl killed the boy alone or she was in a company of others.
The body of the deceased was taken to Longisa County Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
