July 25, 2019

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority has partly closed Sarit centre roundabout in Westlands for 21 days due to road construction.

The Authority released a notice Wednesday urging motorists to use alternative routes until August 12 when the road works will be completed. Motorists have also been urged to follow road signs and be cautious as they approach the area.

The ongoing construction is meant to improve the links from Waiyaki Way to Limuru Road through Westlands, KURA said.

Mwanzi Road, which is open for traffic, is one of the alternative routes from Westgate mall.

Parklands road on the left from Barclays bank and Woodvale groove next to Shell shall remain closed, with no exit onto the construction area.

Waiyaki Way-bound traffic on the left side of the Oval shall stick to the left and navigate the roundabout on the left hand side and through to Waiyaki Way as usual.

The Oval/Sarit Centre bound traffic on the left side from Parklands road shall navigate the roundabout on the deviation provided on the right hand side of the round about and take a left turn at Lower Kabete road and proceed to Sarit Centre or a right turn and proceed to The Oval.

Elsewhere, Outering Road which connects Thika road to the Airport North road at AllSops will also be closed from July 25 to July 28 to allow installation of a footbridge near Avenue Park Estate.
