Kenyan businessman – Raphael Ongangi – who was abducted by unknown people in Dar es Salaam Tanzania has been found.
Ongangi, who runs a cargo logistics business in Tanzania, was abducted on June 24, 2019 at around 9.30pm at the intersection of Karume-Msasani Road in the upmarket neighbourhood of Oysterbay, next to the Ugandan High Commission.
He was reportedly found Tuesday in Mombasa, his wife Veronica Kundya told Tanzanian publication The Citizen.
“I am in a hurry and I cannot say much now,” said Ms Kundya.
“But I thank God and each and everyone out for playing a role, in one way or the other, in accomplishing this.”
The trader was found amid pressure from government officials in Tanzania and social media users from Kenya and Tanzania, who demanded his release via the #BringBackRaphaelOngangi hashtag on Twitter.
Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi also confirmed the good news on social media.
“Raphael Ongangi is Free. He was abducted in Dar es Salaam last week and dumped in Mombasa this morning,” he posted.
