Two suspects accused of killing a 7-year-old boy in Matungu, Kakamega County have been arraigned in court.
Fredrick Chitechi alias Abdalla Mucheva and Aneriko MC Jimmy appeared before Kakamega Resident Magistrate William Lopokoiyit on Tuesday. They were charged that on the evening of May 19, 2019, at Panyako village, they stabbed the minor several times with a knife and killed him.
The accused denied the charges, with the court ordering their detention for 14 days as investigations to continue. The Magistrate also ordered that they undergo a mental test to ascertain whether they are fit to stand trial.
The case will be heard on June 5, 2019.
The two suspects are said to have attacked the boy – Malik Moi – on Sunday night at their home in Simba Wanyika Village. They reportedly raided the home at around 7 pm while his parents had gone for prayers at a nearby mosque.
Area OCPD John Matsili said the minor was stabbed twice in the neck and stomach. He was a class one pupil at Bulimbo Star Academy.
