Full List of 48 KRA Officials Wanted by DCI for Graft

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has ordered 48 officials of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) to report to the DCI headquarters.

The officials are believed to have gone into hiding following Friday’s crackdown where 75 staffers were interdicted by the taxman. They are accused of involvement in abetting tax evasion and facilitating access to services through bribery and corruption.

Of the 48 wanted, 32 officers are from KRA’s Domestic Taxes Department, 15 from the Customs and Border Control Department and one from the Investigations and Enforcement Department.

They are accused of facilitating irregular/fraudulent clearance of cargo, fraudulent amendment of tax returns so as to help taxpayers evade taxes and the irregular issuance of Tax Compliance Certificates.

In a statement Sunday, DCI said the suspects should report to the Investigations Bureau(IB Block) today, Monday 13th May 2019 by 7:00 am without fail.
