A woman was hospitalised after a Buffalo attack in Gilgil, Nakuru County on Sunday.

The middle-aged woman from Elementaita village said she was on her daily morning routine when a herd of buffaloes “came out of nowhere” and knocked her down.

According to a report by Citizen Digital, Ms Agnes Wangari was rescued by area residents who showed up and chased away the herd after hearing her screams.

Ms Wangari was taken to Nakuru Level Five Hospital where she was still nursing injuries by the time of going to press on Monday night.

Area locals noted that their complaints to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) about the presence of the wild animals at a ranch owned by one of the locals have gone unanswered.

They are pleading with the national government, through the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, to intervene and erect an electric fence around the ranch to prevent the wildlife from attacking them or their children who resume school this week.
