What Raila Said About Governor Obado Alleged Murder of Sharon Otieno

October 5, 2018

Opposition leader Raila Odinga will not be throwing his weight behind embattled Migori Governor Okoth Obado in the alleged murder of Sharon Otieno.

According to the ODM leader, he has received many calls to stand with Obado, who is facing murder charges.

Raila, however, says justice should take its course and Obado should prove his innocence.

“So far all indicators are pointing at Obado, let him prove his innocence in court,” Raila said.

The NASA leader further noted that the murder of a pregnant woman and her unborn child in the Luo culture is a bad omen and an act of witchcraft.

“It was unfortunate that a very young woman and her angel were murdered brutally. If the killers didn’t need the child or the mother they should have spared their lives,” said Raila Odinga.

The former Prime Minister was speaking at Awendo bus park in Migori during a two-day campaign for ODM Senator candidate Ochillo Ayacko.

Raila also supported the calls for a referendum to change the constitution noting that the time has come.

While speaking in Rongo, he said that the change was inevitable.

“No one can stop an idea whose time has come.”
