A 15-year-old girl stunned a Nanyuki court when she confessed that she had consensual sex with an adult male who is facing rape charges.
The minor told the court that the accused, Duncan Momanyi, did not rape her and paid her Sh1000 after the act. The apparent pedophile had been charged with defiling her on diverse dates between April 25 and May 11, 2018, at Majengo area, in Nanyuki.
The minor told Magistrate Damacline Bosibori that she met the accused for the first time on April 24 and they met again the following day.
She said she was taken to a lodging where Momanyi had booked a room and they had sex before he gave her Sh1000.
The Court also heard from the girl that she had spent nights with two other men on different dates before they were arrested at the home of the accused on May 11.
“I did not refuse to have sex with him and he never forced me into it,” said the girl.
The minor’s father testified that his daughter ran away from home a week before school reopened. He said on the day of arrest, he trailed them secretly before informing police officers at Nanyuki police station.
The accused denied the rape charges. The matter was adjourned to August 7, 2018, when three other witnesses will testify.
