American television talk show host Ellen Lee DeGeneres is the latest high profile tv star to visit Magical Kenya.
The Ellen DeGeneres Show host was spotted in Nairobi on Sunday, accompanied by her lovely wife, Australian and American actress Portia de Rossi.
The lovebirds were at the Giraffe Manor hotel -almost every tourist’s first destination in the safari of an adventure that is Kenya. Located in the heart of the capital city, Giraffe Manor together with its associated Giraffe Centre, serves as a sanctuary to a number of delightful but endangered Rothschild giraffes.
It also operates a breeding programme to reintroduce breeding pairs back into the wild to secure the future of the subspecies. This must have appealed to DeGeneres, a renowned animal lover and advocate, who was gifted The Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund by Portia on her 60th birthday in January.
“I love animals, and I want to protect them, especially when they’re endangered. We need these incredible creatures and they need our love and compassion to help save them,” says DeGeneres on the wildlife fund’s website.
True to her words, the comedian showed her love and compassion by sharing her breakfast with a couple of gentle giants in Nairobi. Taking to social media on Sunday, DeGeneres shared with her over 78Million followers on Twitter and 53Million on Instagram, some moments of her enviable breakfast date with the famous treats-loving giraffes of the Giraffe Manor.
“Just ordering breakfast on our vacation,” she captioned a video of Portia making an order of pancakes and coffee. The video further shows two giraffes already snacking on their breakfast snacks fed by some of Ellen’s friends.
In another video, captioned “Flirting with a giraffe”, DeGeneres is seen feeding a beautiful giraffe as she gushes, “your eyes are so pretty”.
