Commonwealth Champion Mercy Cherono had an Easter holiday to remember following the delivery of her child.
The track beauty queen and her husband Edmond Ngetich welcomed the bouncing baby girl on Saturday. She goes by the name Kimberly Cherop and her elated father welcomed her into the world with a message on social media.
He wrote: “The best gift from God this Easter. Welcome to the world, princess. And to my lovely wife Cherono Ngetich Mercy, congratulations!”
The 26-year-old athlete married Ngetich on the 19th of December 2016 at a lavish ceremony soon after Ngetich scooped a Sh10 million jackpot from Mcheza.
The couple made headlines last year after they traveled to Nigeria to seek divine intervention in their marriage and Cherono’s injury-plagued career.
It appears Prophet TB Joshua’s intervention has been successful and all is well now for two-time 3000 meters world junior champion.
