State House Girls High School is on a mission to embarrass the rest of Kenya’s public schools with an ambitious school trip to Dubai.
This after it emerged that the school’s management has asked parents to fork out Sh100K towards the trip.
In a letter that has caused quite the buzz on social media, the Nairobi school is asking parents to sponsor their children and ensure they have acquired passports by early May.
The Sh100K will cater for return air ticket, airport transfers, 5 nights hotel accommodation Regal Plaza Hotel, Dubai Visa and Travel Insurance.
The trip will include activities like Dubai city tours, Dhow cruise with dinner, desert safari, Dubai aquarium and underwater zoo, a full day of Wild Wadi Water Park and shopping.
A source at the school said that the trip was an annual event for the students and has seen them visit England and Germany among other countries in the previous years.
The teacher highlighted that it was an open trip where anyone, from Form 1 to 4 could participate in the five-day excursion.
