A 34-Year-Old man from Katalel, Keiyo North on Sunday evening took his own life by jumping into a well.
The shocking suicide comes barely two weeks after his wife gave birth to twins.
A rescue mission conducted by residents came a little too late as the man had already died.
According to Katelel West assistant chief Luka Ruto, the deceased may have decided to take his own life after it became difficult to provide for his newborn twins.
“He jumped into a borehole in his compound. He had no mental problems but he may have faced challenges catering for the twins,” said Ruto.
He added: “The deceased had not quarreled with his wife or neighbours.”
Police took the deceased’s body to Iten County Referral Hospital mortuary and launched investigations.
The assistant chief urged residents to confide in friends and relatives when they have domestic difficulties to avoid such calamities.
