Juja MCA aspirant Margaret Wanjiru who was reported missing on Tuesday has resurfaced in Kitengela.

Wanjiru, who is seeking the Jubilee Party ticket for Kalimoni ward representative, presented herself at Kitengela police on Thursday morning.

A detective at Juja police station said on Thursday that a team of DCI officers were sent to Kitengela to collect her.

Margaret Wanjiru’s husband,  Perminus Thumbi, made the report on Tuesday afternoon saying she had been missing since about 5 pm and that her phones were off.

Wanjiru is the third Kiambu politician to be reported missing this week as incidents of politicians being kidnapped under unclear circumstances continue to rise amid campaigns for the August 8 general election.

Experts say it is a tactical plan for politicians seeking sympathy from the voters, noting that the incidents follow the same scripts.

Other aspirants who were reported missing include Kabete parliamentary aspirant Charles Chege, also known as Chege Fresh, and Ikinu MCA aspirant Kenneth Kinyanjui.

Chege Fresh was allegedly kidnapped last Saturday and resurfaced in Narok a day later.

Kenneth Kinyanjui was reported missing after his vehicle was found by a road near Karia village on Monday.

He went to Mlolongo police station on Tuesday and told officers he had been drugged and dumped on Mombasa Road.
