March 30, 2016

king kakaKing Kaka has opened up about what led to the release of his latest song dubbed ‘Papa’ featuring Elani.
According to the high flying rapper he never had the best of relationships with his father and he regrets not forgiving him before he passed on.
“Papa for me is personal. Since I started my music career I have never really spoken about my father. He passed away before I could forgive him and it haunts me to this day,” he was quoted by The Star.
He added, “I am now a father and I would not want to have the same relationship I had with my father to trickle down to my kids. I am not perfect but I will try my best to be a better father to them.”
The ‘Gorilla’ rapper added that the song is a celebration of all fathers.
“For a very long time, the society has not really celebrated fathers and the contribution they make in their children’s lives. In a lead up to the release of this song, I did a campaign called #ILOVEMYPAPA that received a huge outpouring of responses from people talking about the impact their fathers had on their lives. Some were good some were bad.”
