The old folks know it as Karumaindo, but today it goes by a funkier name; Sabina Joy or simply SJ.
The whorehouse has served generations, but it never gets old. Unlike other brothels that are situated in the dingy alleys of River Road, Sabina Joy is located at the heart of Nairobi.
It’s entrance is on Moi Avenue, just next to Ambassador hotel. It’s somewhere between ‘Nevada Fish and Chips and a MPesa shop… I’m told.
At peak hours, girls are all over the place including the stairs, waiting with their feet open and grabbing any potential client.
From what I hear, this is not the place for those looking for hot hookers. The ones on offer here always have ‘well fed tummys’. They make things worse by exposing them.
To cut the long story short, most clients are touts, broke students and anyone with little self respect.
