President Uhuru Kenyatta and his counterpart from Tanzania Jakaya Kikwete met on Saturday on the sidelines of Namibia President’s inauguration, to find a common ground in the latest squabbles that saw Tanzania nearly kick out Kenya Airways from its airspace.
The Tanzanian government had ordered KQ to reduce it’s flight into the country by over 60%, a move that was seen as a result of Kenya’s move to kick Tanzanian tour vans out of JKIA. The two Presidents agreed to have KQ resume normal flights and the tour vans allowed inside East Africa’s main airport, just like before.
