President Uhuru has been in Nigeria for a few days now, for bilateral talks and to attend the World Economic Forum.
His visit coincided with the deadly attacks by Al-Shabaab over the weekend, in Mombasa and along Thika Road. There were lots of people who thought he should return to the country and address that matter urgently, but that did not happen. President Goodluck Jonathan thanked him yesterday for choosing to stay even when his country was being attacked.
The two countries promised to work together to counter terrorism. There were also some trade agreements, with the two countries signing three agreements and four Memoranda of Understanding that are aimed at promoting trade between our two countries. The agreements were on Trade Cooperation and Agricultural Cooperation which lay the foundation for business people from Kenya and Nigeria to interact and promote business and make provisions for the two countries to work together in boosting their agriculture respectively. The third agreement was on immigration matters and seeks to ease the movement of people between Kenya and Nigeria.
