PHOTO – This Was Safaricom’s 100,000th Subscriber

Last week, we showed you this photo of a Safaricom advert from way back.
They were just a few hours/days shy of their 100,000th subscriber, and they were ready to reward the lucky guy handsomely. 5 mobile phones and Sh100,000 airtime is no small gift even by today’s standards.

That reward went to one Mr. Moses from Machakos. This was the follow up ad they did.
Who would have imagined this company would be making over 200,000 shillings a minute in a decade’s time.
