The final trials and selection of the team that will represent Kenya in the first ever World Relay Championships in Nassau, Bahamas next month, will take place on Saturday 26th April at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Some of the big names in the local music industry will share the stage to crown the first edition of Safaricom Relay Series. Kamba music legend, Ken wa Maria will be on stage followed by P-Unit, Jaguar and top mix masters Kaytrixx and DJ Joe Mfalme.
Safaricom Marketing Director, Rita Okuthe, had this to say. “We call on all Kenyans to come out in large numbers and support the athletes who will be competing for a chance to fly the country’s flag high in Bahamas, this will be a great opportunity for us and once again an affirmation of Safaricom’s commitment in supporting sports and music industries in the country.”
Safaricom like Coca Cola company, has set precedent in sports sponsorship in the country, such as running the coveted marathon series like Safaricom Marathon at the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the Safaricom Safari Sevens and the Safaricom Athletics Series.
