President Uhuru Kenyatta’s close family member was on Tuesday night a victim of the growing insecurity in the country.
Mrs. Jean Njeri Muhoho, 56, an aunt to the president, was carjacked along Uhuru highway by three gunmen. They drove her around the city for more than two hours before dumping her along Northern by pass in Gigiri area.
Mrs Muhoho told the police she was in the company of a 25 year old man when the gang of three forced their way into their wingroad saloon car at about 8.30 pm while they were stuck in traffic.
Nairobi Police boss, Benson Kibue, said Mrs Muhoho, wife to former Kenya Airports Authority boss George Muhoho, and the occupant were not harmed in the ordeal. However, Mrs Muhoho lost Sh 20,000, her ATM card, driving license, pair of shoes and Uchumi card while the man lost his techno mobile phone.
Police are on the hunt for the gang.
