From large motorcades to custom podiums, our governors cannot have enough of this power. Their excellencies are small presidents in their counties, and unfortunately some think that laws of the land do not apply to them.
Yesterday, vehicles belonging to Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua were caught on camera breaking a good number of traffic rules in Nairobi. Driving on the wrong side from Valley Road, police watched helplessly as Gachagua’s four vehicle entourage made way past them.
These photos describe it all.

What is more depressing however, is news that he had just hit and killed a pedestrian at a junction between Karatina and Nyeri. Mathira East OCPD Rashid Mohammed said the deceased was crossing the road at Marwa junction on Sunday night when he was hit by one of Gachagua’s chase cars.

It’s simple logic that after an accident you will be more careful, however, that does not seem to be the case here.
