Murder Suspects Forced To Have The ‘Cut’ While In Remand

Three men and a minor on Tuesday told the high court, where they are facing murder charges, that they were circumcised against their wishes while being held at Industrial Area remand prison.
Jacob Odhiambo, Wycliffe Odhiambo, George Opiyo and the minor through their lawyer Mr Odero Perez requested immediate medical attention having developed complications.
“Genitals of the accused are oozing blood, others are not doing any better. We request they be taken to hospital to get adequate medical attention, the wounds are becoming septic. Somebody can lose his manhood,” Mr Odero told the court.
The accused allegedly murdered Mr John Owich on January this year at Bidii area near Kayole Police station.
According to the prosecution, a report confirming the assault ought to be availed by officer in charge of Kayole police station and prison authorities.
Lady Justice Roseline Korir directed the accused be taken to hospital and a report be availed in court during the mention date set for March 11.
