Looks like Nairobians will not be the only people enjoying free WIFI. The Statehouse Digital Team has partnered with the Nakuru County Government to provide free internet in Nakuru for the next one month.
The initiative was launched earlier this week by President Uhuru Kenyatta, Director of State House Digital Team Dennis Itumbi, and the Nakuru county government. Itumbi said that the initiative was proposed by the Jubilee government.
” Jubilee government proposed to provide free wifi to five towns. The journey has just began.”
Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua hopes that this will open up more opportunities to the Nakuru people.
” We are ready to ensure that our people will benefit from the connectivity. We are certain that this will transform the democratic space.” He said.
The project is said to have cost over 200 million shillings.
