Kenya’s only performing governor, Alfred Mutua, has done it again. On Thursday, he launched 120 police cars fitted with state of the art communication equipment. The vehicles will be distributed to all the constituencies in Machakos. Also launched yesterday was 40 police sniffer dogs to be distributed to 40 wards, CCTV cameras, Alcoblow kits and police communication equipment.
Mutua said that the elaborate security programme will be coordinated through already established call centres in Machakos Town, Athi River, Masii, Kangundo and Masinga, which he said will be operational day and night.
Mutua also revealed that his government had set aside Sh300 million for police housing in the next financial year. A forensic lab with DNA equipment is also coming soon.
