A man at the centre of a love triangle with former cabinet minister Raphael Tuju has been arrested for trespassing. Anthony Ogunda, a GSU officer mentioned as the second respondent in Tuju’s divorce case, was arrested at about 9 pm Thursday night after they were found together with Tuju’s wife Ruth, at the the politician’s residence.
He was detained at the Kilimani Police Station.
According to the area police chief Bernard Muli, his officers went to Tuju’s residence after receiving a trespass complaint from him.
“Last night we got a complaint from Honourable Raphael Tuju that there was somebody who had trespassed in his home. We sent our officers there and we managed to arrest one person who could not explain himself as to why he had gone there,” he told reporters in his office.
“He was arrested and we are investigating the matter. Soon, he will appear in court for trespass or any other offence that may be disclosed,” he said.
Tuju said that he has a restraining order barring Ogunda from going to his home.
Ogunda told Capital FM that he had been assaulted by the former minister and his bodyguards.
“Yesterday I was from Nakuru and went to Mrs Tuju’s house. I do not know if it was a trap because it was not even five minutes that I arrived that he broke in the door and windows, came in with his security and started harassing and beating us up,” he said.
“He (Tuju) was the main character there while one of his guards was holding a gun to me,” he added.
He also maintained that he was not trespassing as he was a guest of Tuju’s wife.
