Nakumatt Supermarket Opens Doors to 60th Store in Emali Town (PHOTOS)

Nakumatt Holdings may have suffered a setback recently when the Ukay Branch was overrun with floods but the supermarket chain is still on course with its expansion strategy.
On Thursday, the retailer opened it’s 60th store in Emali town, along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. The new branch comes two months after Nakumatt Holding completed its Western Kenya market enhancement strategy with the opening of Nakumatt Midtown Supermarket in Kakamega.
Currently enjoying a less than 25 percent market share of the formal retail space, Nakumatt Holdings, is actively seeking to retain a bigger slice of the mid to premium segment. Through the strategy, the retailer has been working, to grow its gross revenue to over US$1billion in the medium term period while growing its network footprint across East Africa.
