Musicians Wahu and Nameless are the newest celebrity parents in town.
The Mathenges as they are popularly known announced the birth of their third child on Tuesday, October 11. Wahu and Nameless named their daughter, Shiru, after Nameless’s eldest sister, Rosemary.
Sharing a video as he bonded with Shiru some minutes after she was born, Nameless wrote: “This is 5mins after she was born๐๐ฟโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ๐๐ฏ… My first earthly connection with my third born Daughter, Shiru, named after my eldest sister according to Kikuyu tradition.
“We’ll also give her an African name soon.๐๐พ๐๐ฟThank you for your prayers and well wishes๐๐๐ฟ ! Shiru is healthy, beautiful and very alert ๐. And @wahukagwi, MamaShiru did a splendid job at bringing her into this world. Mum is fine and excited to start this journey together. ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐” Nameless added.
Wahu on her part shared a video holding baby Shiru in her arms for the first time and thanked God for seeing her through the pregnancy.
“From the moment I knew I was carrying you I loved you. I’ve loved every kick & turn you made, the doctor’s visits where I saw your heartbeat; I’ve loved singing to you, talking to you…I’ve worried, I’ve prayed and felt a myriad of emotions for the past 9 months, and here we are now… when I finally get hold you in my arms for the 1st time. It’s difficult to explain this moment…all I can say is Thank you God. You have seen us through,” the 42-year-old songbird wrote.
Baby Shiru arrives less than a month after Wahu and Nameless celebrated 17 years of marriage and 25 years of dating.
Shiru joins a trio of Mathenge sisters comprising 16-year-old Tumiso, and Nyakio, 9.
