Sniffer Dogs Were Deployed at KU, Did Intelligence Anticipate Thika Road Blasts?
Last week, visitors at Kenyatta university were subjected to thorough checks, with security bringing in sniffer dogs. This caused a major traffic snarl up, with the vehicles’ queue extending well past Kahawa underpass.
With Al-Shabaab blowing up two buses just a few kilometres away, barely three days later, one is tempted to ask, did the intelligence service anticipate an attack? Or is there an imminent threat against Kenyatta University.
This is against the backdrop of a text message that has been circulating, warning of possible attacks at select shopping malls and a major public university.
We must co mend the university administration, but I believe the intelligence gathering is all that matters.
