Word on the street has it that Kenya’s elections ‘Hero’ Martin Kamotho, fondly known as Githeri Man, has fallen from grace.
Kamotho inadvertently charmed his way into the hearts of Kenyans last year after he was photographed eating ‘Githeri’ from a plastic bag during the August 8 elections.
This propelled the father of one, who was once a city cleaner, to immediate stardom as Kenyans hailed him for providing comic relief at a time when it was most needed.
What followed were corporates looking to make Kamotho their poster boy with Telcom giant Safaricom among the first to reward him with Samsung S8+phones. He also received a piece of land in Karen courtesy of Ngong Crescent real estate firm and several brand endorsement deals.
To top it all off, Kamotho received a Head of State Commendation from President Uhuru Kenyatta during last year’s Jamhuri Day celebrations.
Now, pictures have emerged online showing Kamotho looking rather unrefined than he was before when he received a wardrobe makeover from Uhuru Kenyatta’s designer.
According to unconfirmed reports, the pictures were taken at a chang’aa den in Nairobi’s Kayole area where he resides.
While we are yet to establish when the pictures were taken, netizens have been left disappointed by Kamotho’s alleged fall from grace.
